To our Express Driving School Families:

The impact and outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) is continuing to impact people and countries around the world. Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our families, our businesses, our communities, and our way of life. During this time, we  wanted to update you on how we’re approaching the situation at Express Driving School.

First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who’s been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery. And we’re truly inspired by the selfless healthcare workers around the world who are on the front lines working tirelessly to care for people in need.

Second, at Express Driving School, our top priority is on the health and safety of our students, instructors, and families.  We are carefully monitoring and following guidance from the state of California for gradual re-opening of businesses/workplaces.  We have provided the following updates regarding our school.

Behind-the-Wheel Training UPDATES:

  • Currently we have cancelled all in-vehicle lessons until further notice.
  • Due to the uncertainty about when we will start conducting driving lessons, we are currently only accepting Appointment Request Forms.  Appointments will be scheduled once the State publicly announces a definite re-open date for our type of business.
  • Once business resumes, we will follow key prevention practices put forth by the CDC to ensure delivery of safe and seamless service during these challenging times.
    • Use of face coverings by driving instructors and students,
    • frequent hand washing and regular vehicle cleaning and disinfection as recommended by the CDC,
    • training employees on these and other elements of the COVID-19 prevention plan.

Driver Education UPDATES:

  • Online driver education is still available 24/7 online.  Register at expressdrivingsd.com.
    • Practice physical distancing to the maximum extent possible; complete online driver education from home and receive your Certificate of Completion via US postal mail.

California DMV UPDATES:

  • The California Department of Motor Vehicles will reopen select field offices across the state on Friday, May 8, 2020 to assist customers with existing appointments and with transactions that require an in-person visit to a field office during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The reopened offices will process DMV Express customers for REAL ID transactions, if time and space allows.
  • The reopened offices will still NOT provide behind-the-wheel driving tests because of concern about the spread of coronavirus with DMV employees being in proximity to customers in cars.

We understand the challenges all drivers are facing and we aim to support your needs in any way we can.  As always, we are committed to providing you with outstanding support and service, in a transparent manner you can trust.  We are here for you. If you need to get in touch, please reach out to (619) 735-3053 or [email protected].

We look forward to re-opening in the near future and hope to be out driving and instructing soon.  Check back for more updates.  Stay safe and healthy!

Kind Regards,

Express Driving School Management Team
